Our short trek south brings us to St. Augustine.  We begin our day at the site of the historic Alcazar Hotel, a Flagler hotel for the wealthy and famous vacationing in Florida. Our guide will share the history and  antiquities from this American Guilded Age. We will dine here at the site of the original indoor swimming pool, a symbol of luxury during this era. Leisure time will be enjoyed for exploring the square or St. George Street. We will round out our day at Flagler College, originally Mr. Flagler’s Hotel Ponce de Leon, exploring the Tiffany Stained glass and Austrian crystal chandeliers, symbols of the beauty and elegance of this by-gone time.

Start spreading the news….. We are off to the city that doesn’t sleep  – The BIG Apple - NEW YORK, NY !

Come on and  Be a part of it !

Our First Day begins as we travel north to Richmond, Va., where we’ll enjoy a welcome dinner and a relaxing evening at our hotel.

Our Second Day will begin the heart of our journey as we arrive into New York. Upon arrival, we will check into our deluxe hotel, which is located directly on Broadway in the heart of Times Square. New York will be our home for the next four nights. Tonight, we will treat ourselves to an exceptional deluxe dinner and music on board the Bateaux, a breathtaking cruise on the Hudson River. What better way to appreciate the beauty of this magnificent city?

Our Third Day will begin with breakfast and then a ferry cruise to Liberty Island, where we will delight ourselves in the presence of the most popular icon in our country, The Statue of Liberty. We will also sail to Ellis Island to our country’s ancestry and how we are such a melting pot of many cultures. The amazing Ground Zero Memorial Plaza and 9/11 Museum will be experienced today, along with many unique sights and history shared by our guide, “A True New York Expert”.  New York welcomes us with exceptional food and a wonderful view. We’ll dine at “The View” at the top of the Marriott Marquis. Enjoy changing sights as we slowly revolve to view Manhattan. After our dinner, we’ll experience Broadway with a show that will prove to be a thrill. The true essence and mystique of the American theatre can only be experienced and appreciated onBroadway.  Perhaps a night-cap or an evening stroll would complete the evening before we turn in for the night.

Day Four - Wow! What a day - Independence Day!  Our day will be full and exciting as we venture up to the top of the Empire State Building. We’ll experience extraordinary and brilliant sights as our guide takes us on a another fantastic riding tour of the city, which will include some of our favorites, such as Radio City Music Hall, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Rockefeller Plaza and much more. Tonight’s dinner will be on your own along with the remainder of the evening. Have dinner at the hotel or visit one of the many New York Deli’s located within walking distance of our hotel. Take a walk down Broadway, eat pizza from a street vendor, visit Little Italy, relax in your room, or maybe just hang “around” The View withsome friends. Don’t forget the “Fabulous 4th of July Fireworks” this evening, New York Style. We will assist you with your “Free Evening” planning.

Day Five is Your Day. Enjoy the “Big Apple” your way. Shopping? What would a trip to New York be without it? Watch out Macy’s, here we come or maybe explore Fifth Avenue. Shopping not your bag? You can begin your day early on television. Join the background audience at The Today Show or Good Morning America. Take advantage of the free time to visit places on your own like Central Park, an NBC Studio Tour, Top of the Rock, Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum, or any of the many extraordinary museums like The Whitney or The Met. Make sure that you’re back in time for our Special “New York Farewell” Evening. Tonight we dine! We will be dining at one of New York’s most famous restaurants, Sardi’s.  Known as the chosen theatre restaurant for the celebrated and famous, this landmark establishment is a real New York treat. Then it’s off to another wonderful Broadway production.

Rise and shine! This morning we’ll depart from the hustle and bustle of New York and begin an adventure back south. As we arrive into Washington, DC, we will pick up our professional guide, who will enlighten our minds with historical facts and information about our Nation’s Capital and its history. After our tour, we’ll enjoy dinner at one of our favorites, then continue south back through Virginia, where we will check into our hotel to overnight.

Our final day will see us traveling back to the Sunshine State after our morning breakfast. We’ll enjoy on board bus activities, games and a movie or two. We’ll arrive back in Jacksonville in the early evening with smiles on our faces and songs in our hearts as we remember the great timeshared by all.
